5 Winter Activities in Big Bear Lake

Big Bear, a charming city in the heart of San Bernardino County, California, is a premier mountain escape that offers breathtaking scenery and exciting activities. It boasts of four seasons that provide year-round fun for everyone. During the winter months (November to February,) Big Bear transforms into a picturesque winter wonderland.

2. Snow Tubing Fun

Nothing beats the adrenaline rush of rushing down the powdery slopes aboard colorful inner tubes. Summon your inner child, go on this magic ride and have the time of your life. Young and old alike will surely get a good laugh with this activity.

At night, the tubing hill will be drowned in a symphony of colors, making it more magical. After a day of excitement, you can head to one of the Big Bear cabins for rent for a relaxing night covered in fuzzy, warm blankets.

3. Take Stroll in the Village

Children will enjoy building their very first snowman in the Aspen Glen Picnic Area. This free snow play area is a safe spot where you can create not only snowballs and snowmen but memories with your loved ones as well.

Remember to secure an adventure pass for parking at the Big Bear Visitor’s Center. For lunch, you can pack a picnic and enjoy them at one of the tables provided for guests.

5. Skiing, of course!

A winter trip is not complete without going on the slopes to ski. For a more affordable option, try to go during off-peak seasons such as weekdays or non-holidays. There are two major ski resorts to choose from that have the right amount of snow to keep you shredding.
