How to solve a 1000-piece puzzle in the fastest way?

While puzzles are a great way to increase cognitive activity, sometimes they can be hard to solve, and you might end up losing your interest in solving one ever again. That should not be the case, though. We need to stay motivated for our own good, and Australian jigsaw puzzles can be fun, provided that, in the end, they give us a dopamine kick. When our minds achieve victory, one’s bound to feel good. So, how do we feel good while creating a 1000-piece puzzle? All you need is the right strategy, and you can solve the infinite-seeming behemoth-piece puzzle given to you.

Let’s look at the usual strategy first: Start with turning the pieces all images face up and then sorting by the edges. That’s our personal favorite way of beginning with any puzzle, even a small 10-piece one, let alone these 1000-piece puzzles.

So, what is the best and fastest way to solve a 1000-piece puzzle in Australia? Here are some tips for doing it right:

1. Preparation:

Before you begin solving your puzzle, prepare first. This is often an undermined step. However, as it turns out, it is functional. To increase your puzzle-solving speed, you have to know the full frame. How do you sort it, though? You decide.

Sit with your puzzle. Often a complete picture of the puzzle is given on the box. Analyse-it carefully. If it has many colours, sort the pieces with colours. Pick out all the edge pieces and keep them aside. The more time you spend sorting the full-frame, the faster you’ll be able to solve. So, sort the frame and categorize it.

2. Surface:

Another undermined factor is the surface where you’re solving your puzzle. Choose a surface that is light in colour and flat so that you can display all the pieces. Since we are working to solve a 1000-piece puzzle in Australia, we need a bigger surface to be able to see our pieces clearly.

Also, ensure that the place has good lighting. Your house floor or spare table is a great surface for your puzzle. Find a nice, quiet spot in the corner of your house, and you’re good to go.

3. Sort again:

Since it is a 1000-piece puzzle, sorting should be emphasized more. For instance, the puzzle uses three different shades of blue, and you have categorized all the blue on one side, but are violet and indigo pieces just not on the line, they don’t fit, and are they giving you a hard time? Okay, sub-categorize them. The more you redefine your sorting, the easier it will become to solve it.

4. Breaks:

Take scheduled short breaks of 5-10 minutes and long breaks whenever you feel the need. It helps you rejuvenate. It’s great to solve a puzzle and lose track of time, but obsessing over that one missing awkward bit would not help it faster. Moreover, that is enough to forget other necessary things, and it is not healthy. Keep your puzzle-solving discipline at breaks.

5. Be patient:

Another thing needed to solve a 1000-piece puzzle in Australia is to be patient. A 1000-piece puzzle is, in fact, a challenge so when a tiny edge or centerpiece goes missing, resist the urge to flip the solved parts and call it “quits”. Remember, the more you solve it, the better you get. Practice will hone your strategies, enhance your visual skills and also benefit your eye-hand coordination.

6. Sit with friends:

Call over your friends or family for lunch and dinner, and their pass time could be helping you solve this puzzle. Have kids help you because this may just surprise you, but kids are the best at these things. Their curious minds can think of methods we don’t even have a hint of. Moreover, this gives an opportunity to you: Make bonds and create special times. Divide your category’s pieces among your friends and then begin arranging them. It’s a great group activity. You can have it in your office under the monthly employee retreat program.

Conclusion:

These puzzles are always not necessarily rectangular shaped, so the strategy- ‘Start from the edges’ may not work well. In such a case, your categorized pieces come to the rescue. Start with one category and piece them together. Soon, you’ll see it work.
