From getting stripped off the natural hair color, trims and spa treatments at the salon to shampooing and blow drying at home, women invest a lot of time and money into their hair. I strongly agree with the fact that a woman’s hair needs a lot of maintenance. However, healthy hair can always be achieved without breaking the bank. Here are some of my views, for more do visit http://flawlessmania.com/
1. Avoid Shampoo:
Yes, you read that right! Check out each ingredient on your shampoo and the conditioner that you use. Some of the products which claim to be natural do not include the complete list of ingredients, which seems so organic and natural to the consumer, beware of such hair products. Instead of opting for expensive chemical-based products, choose any of the natural ways to wash your hair. The below step explains one of the natural ways of washing your hair.
2. DIY Natural Hair Cleanser:
Boil the soap nuts (as per your hair thickness and length) on a low flame and allow it to cool. By adding the required amounts of water squeeze the nuts and extract the liquid. Filter out the liquid and it’s ready to wash your hair. This liquid can not only be used as a hair/body cleanser but also can be used in washing your laundry, cleaning the car, etc. The remains of the soap nuts can be added to the compost for plants.
You can also dry soap nuts, amla, fenugreek, shikakai, and make a fine powder and add it to the water. Don’t forget to filter the liquid, it makes your job easier while cleansing. Make sure you wash your hair with cold or lukewarm water.
3. Dry your hair carefully:
Be gentle to your hair. Pat dry it with a towel and let it air dry. Do not use heat styling tools frequently, it might be tempting to get sleek and lustrous hair, but then think of the damage it causes to your hair. Save the straightener, flat iron, blow dryer and hot rollers for special occasions. Never comb your hair when it’s wet, if it is unavoidable use a wide tooth hair brush.
4. Deep Conditioning:
This is one of the important steps that should be taken care of, to avoid breakage and damage to your hair. The best way to condition your hair is to oil it at least 3-4 times a week. Castor oil mixed and heated with coconut oil in the ratio of 1:2 works wonders on your hair when massaged on your scalp. Another effective way is to apply coconut milk for at least 30 minutes before you wash off your hair.
5. Be Mindful while stepping out:
Long exposures to the sun, your daily commute can also damage your hair if you aren’t taking measures to protect it. Try not to expose yourself to the polluted areas. If you have to, cover yourself with a hat or a scarf. Also, be careful while getting into a swimming pool. Do not forget to tie your hair and use a hair cap.
6. Diet:
Having a diet rich in nutrition is the most significant step which solves the majority of problems. Eating a well-balanced diet is a sure way to make your hair grow thicker and healthier. Make sure you don’t skip the foods that are rich in Protein, Biotin, Vitamin B, and Omega 3 fatty acids.
7. De-Stress:
All the above steps are pointless if you take in a lot of stress. Understand that something or the other bothers everyone in this world. Do not keep worrying for every little thing that comes your way. The more you let it go, the healthier and beautiful you look. So take time for yourself and meditate for at least 10 minutes in a day. Doing any sort of physical exercise helps you detangle from the stress. If you are not interested in hitting the gym, try playing a sport or walking in the nearby park.
